I only read when my OCD kicks in

I enjoy reading, however, the bulk of reading only occurs while I am in an OCD focus zone. Last year I read over 70 books but I didn't pick up a book from August 2013 until March 25, 2014... I have already read 3 books this year!

The Flame Alphabet

The Flame Alphabet - Ben Marcus I have upped my previous review and deleted it. This book is interesting and disturbing. So many questions come out of reading this book that makes me wonder what place the author Ben Marcus is at. I'm currently 50% through the book, hoping to finish it in the next day or two.
I have decidedly upped my impression of this book first from a 2 star now to a 4 star.
My interpretation on this book is that it is a retelling of the jewish holocaust put into a future scenario. Some of the concepts are twisted, dark, morbid and the utter betrayal of all things we consider holy. I suppose that no matter how grim a future is portrayed it cannot be any worse than the past for some people and that is what gripped my about this book.
Initially I was offended and disturbed by the attack on the Jewish. Once I came to understand in my mind what was really going on then I was able to get into it.
I would have to say for dystopian literature it probably isn't going to be that successful but as a rehashing of the past and making that a possible future is where this book will find its audience.

I think that the book could have been laid out a bit clearer for the reader since we are the ones that have to work our minds over to interpret what the heck the author is going for and to in the end come to our own conclusions.

The Flame Alphabet is a good read but does not have any sequel capabilities nor does it have the added value of re-readability.

That is my two cents hope you enjoy it.
